A trolleybus operator from 1949 until 1967, the Transport Department's fleet numbered 194 and were mostly double deck vehicles. TBS13 was one of 10 single deckers which operated the 108 route from Mount Florida to Shieldhall between 1958 and 1967.
Their 34ft 6in (10.52m) length was in excess of the legal limit at the time of introduction. Special Ministry of Transport approval was given and because no problems arose the regulation length was increased to 36 feet (11m) in 1961.
TBS13 was exhibited at the 1958 Commercial Motor Show at Earls Court.
This trolleybus is powered by a 125hp (86kW) electric motor, electricity being supplied by overhead power lines.
TBS13 is on long-term loan from the Glasgow Museum of Transport.
