This vehicle was one of a number of various different vehicles bought by the R.T.I.T.B. in 1969. During it’s working life it was not used in normal service and it was only after being purchased for preservation that it carried fare paying passengers. It is preserved in the livery of Baxter’s of Airdrie. The well respected local firm was bought over by SMT who, after some initial repaints, decided to maintain the livery and name until the late 1970’s. During SMT ownership Baxters did operate vehicles of this type albeit a slightly shorter version.
