Leyland LT5B Lion, built 1934 with Alexander 35 seat body - powered by one the first 6 cylinder diesel engines. (8.6 litre)
Fleet No P169, served out of Alexander's Kilsyth Depot. Operated the Glasgow to Inverness route on a daily basis for first 10 years of service.
Re-bodied in 1947 by Burlingham of Blackpool.
Withdrawn by Alexander's in 1960.
After withdrawal in 1960, it went to a Banff showman and later to the Strathspey Railway in 1976 and then to Sandy Scott of Elgin by mid 1980. It remained with Sandy until it was purchased by Will Hamer of Cumbria Classic Coaches in 1998.
From Jan 1998 it served with Cumbria Classic Coaches in regular PSV use and on private hire duty.
Now owned by a GVVT member.
